TAPPAHANNOCK ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR HALLOWEEN

The Town of Tappahannock and Tappahannock Police Department announce that Halloween trick or treating will be held on Saturday October 31, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm.  Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, parents and participants should keep the following recommendations in mind:

 

·         Use of cloth face coverings or masks

·         Avoid close contact with those not in your immediate household

·         Practice social distancing when possible

·         Frequent sanitizing of hands

·         Use of containers for candy distribution to avoid hand to hand contact

 

New Town Manager Eric Pollitt stated "I am glad to see the Mayor and Council support trick or treating this year like many other communities across the state.  The Mayor and Council emphasize following the Tappahannock Police Department's guidelines, and we look forward to enjoying a fun evening as a community in these turbulent times."

               

The police department will be on patrol during the evening monitoring vehicle and pedestrian traffic to ensure the safety of all participants.

TAPPAHANNOCK POLICE MAKE MULTIPLE DRUG ARRESTS

The Tappahannock Police Department announces multiple narcotic offenders after more than six months of investigation.  With the assistance from the Virginia State Police and Essex Sheriff's Office, the police department has charged nine individuals in relation to the trafficking and sale of cocaine and heroin. 

 

"This investigation was thorough and necessary to help reduce the number of drug dealers that have been operating within the town and we are happy with the results the officers involved were able to produce", said Captain J.H. Siddons. 

 

The suspects charged are as follows:

 

Keisha Smith, 42 of Tappahannock, three counts of distribution of cocaine, three counts of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, three counts of distribution within a school zone, four counts of child endangerment, and one count of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.

 

Jamon Gail, 40 of Tappahannock, three counts of distribution of cocaine, one count of distribution of heroin, three counts of conspiracy to distribute narcotics, two counts of distribution in a school zone, five counts of child endangerment, and one count of possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.

 

Devante Moye, 27 of Tappahannock, three counts of distribution of cocaine,

 

Andrew Hammond, 28 of Tappahannock, three counts of distribution of cocaine and two counts of distribution within a school zone.

 

Brittney Scott, 32 of Tappahannock, one count of distribution of cocaine and one count of distribution within a school zone.

 

Justin Wilmouth, 23 of Lancaster, one count of distribution of cocaine and one count of distribution within a school zone.

 

Tevin Ball, 28 of Warsaw, two counts of distribution of cocaine.

 

Phylicia Thompson, 33 of Tappahannock, two counts of distribution of cocaine.

 

Alphonso Johnson, 31 of Tappahannock, three counts of distribution of cocaine.

 

All suspects are either out on bond or incarcerated awaiting trial.
