TAPPAHANNOCK POLICE INVESTIGATING ARMED ROBBERY

The Tappahannock Police Department is investigating an armed robbery of Wendy's that took place in the early morning hours of August 22.  Shortly after midnight, an unknown male armed with a handgun entered the rear of the building, forced the staff into the freezer, and demanded money from the manager.  The suspect's identity was concealed, and he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.  No injuries were reported during the incident.  "The police department has some evidence and leads in this case, and we are sorting through that now, but we are more thankful that no one was hurt.", said Captain J.H. Siddons. 

 
"We'd like to thank the Essex and King and Queen Sheriff's Offices as well as the state police for assisting us and we hope to have this cleared soon.", Siddons added.
